The new Instagram feature you’ll love

It’s the feature Instagram users have been asking for ever since the app first launched in 2010. Now the picture-sharing app has finally allowed its 300 million users to post in both landscape and portrait format.

For those who might not be familiar with the popular app Instagram, they previously only allowed photos to be square.

“It turns out that nearly one in five photos or videos people post aren’t in the square format, and we know that it hasn’t been easy to share this type of content on Instagram: friends get cut out of group shots, the subject of your video feels cramped, and you can’t capture the Golden Gate Bridge from end to end,” Instagram wrote in a blog post.

Finally, Instagram has “thought outside the square” and introduced the new aspect ratios. So now when you upload a photo or video you can tap the “format” icon to adjust the orientations, choosing either portrait or landscape. The traditional square format is still available too.

Speaking of Instagram, follow the Over60 Instagram page. We promise you lots of photos of mouth-watering food!
