The staggering cost of Adele’s divorce
Superstar Adele has announced her separation from husband Simon Konecki which secretly took place last year.
Those keeping an eye on the former couple’s divorce say that Simon, 45, could obtain half of the singer’s incredible $275 million fortune.
It is reported that the two did not sign a prenup prior to tying the knot.
The duo are parents to son Angelo, 6, and despite having announced their split on Friday, their separation was set in stone a long time ago.
Documents reveal that Adele, 30, sold their $5.5 million UK home in February. She also put her home in LA under Simon’s name in January.
It was only last month the multiple Grammy award winner was spotted downing shots with her A-lister friend Jennifer Lawrence.
Speaking to The Sun an insider said: “Adele started telling close friends and family about the split a couple of months ago.

“Jennifer was one of the first she told. The pair later arranged a double celebration – Adele to raise a glass of wine to her future, and Jennifer to celebrate her engagement to Cooke Maroney.
“The girls have the same dark sense of humour that made them think it was funny. It was a brilliant night.”
Adele and Simon were a notoriously private couple, even keeping their 2016 wedding a secret from the press. But despite it all, friends say their lives have taken them “in different directions and to different continents”.
Simon, who runs an eco-friendly brand Life Water and funds global initiatives, regularly travels to Africa and India. An insider revealed: “They tried everything in their power to stay together but in the end the time they were spending apart became too extreme.
“Simon has no interest in red carpets, showbiz parties or being on the scene, whereas Adele has been back in the recording studio of late, and is ready to get out and mingle again.
“She has a great social circle with a bunch of strong Hollywood women who love her for her humour and down-to-earth ways.
“They enjoy spending time at each other’s pads in LA and New York, hosting dinners and movie nights. At the same time Simon has been travelling to oversee his projects. His passion for his cause and his success just took him away from his wife. They drifted in different directions.”
The couple announced their split on Easter weekend, hoping it would receive less media attention.
The statement said: “Adele and her partner have separated.
“They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy.”
