When Nikki Young decided to visit a question and answer session with Tom Hanks, who was promoting his new book Uncommon Type: Some Stories at the Texas Book Festival, she had no idea she would walk out with a diamond ring.
Nikki’s partner, Ryan McFarling, had secretly enlisted the help of the Hollywood legend to propose in the sweetest way.
And she said yes! According to AP, Hanks hugged Nikki and gave the newly-engaged couple his best wishes.
It seems the Cast Away star has a soft spot when it comes to romance. Just last year, he crashed a couple’s wedding snaps in New York’s Central Park. He even offered to perform the ceremony, only to learn they had already exchanged their vows!
