The self-lacing shoe was first introduced to the world on Back to the Future II in 1989. However, 15 years later and this shoe is now available. The shoe’s designer Tinker Hatfield started working on a replica that has light-up soles and a rechargeable internal battery. Forrest had a dream to start a shrimping business with fellow soldier Bubba. After Bubba’s death, Forrest pursued the dream despite the adversity he had to face along the way. Paramount owner Viacom used this touching story to launch a restaurant in California called ‘Bubba Gump Shrimp Co’. The restaurant is hugely successful and is now a global chain.
