He took home three Oscars for best actor in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, As Good as It Gets and best supporting actor in Terms of Endearment.

Nicholson earnt his big break in 1969 for his role in Easy Rider but had been acting in films since the late 1950s.
