Cameron Diaz’s shock announcement

She is one of Hollywood's leading ladies, starring in blockbusters such as Charlie's Angels, Shrek and There's Something About Mary, but Cameron Diaz is retiring from acting at the age of 45.

Diaz, whose last starring role in a film was as Miss Hannigan in 2014 remake of Annie, has reportedly given up her job in acting to focus on family life with her musician husband Benji Madden, according to friend Selma Blair.

Speaking at the Oscar's Vanity Fair pre-party in LA last week, Selma, who starred in the 2002 movie The Sweetest Thing with Diaz, said: “I had lunch with Cameron the other day, we were reminiscing about the film.

“I would have liked to do a sequel but Cameron's retired from acting, she's like ‘I'm done’.”

Blair added, “I mean, she doesn't need to make any more films, she has a pretty great life, I don't know what it would take to bring her back.”

An insider told the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: “Cameron is constantly inundated with film scripts trying to tempt her out of retirement but she’s just not interested.

“She’s happy, in love and wants to make the most of her freedom and free time.”

In January, Us Weekly reported the actress was more interested in starting a family than continuing her acting career.

“Cameron hasn’t wanted to work,” a source told the magazine, “She is enjoying being at home and being a housewife, she would love more than anything to be a mum.”

“At this point they would be very happy with the miracle of one child,” the source added.
