Susan Boyle opens up about plans to start a family at 58

Susan Boyle has revealed her plan to start a family at the age of 58.

The singer, who shot to fame after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, said she is interested in “fostering” children in a recent interview on The Dan Wootton Interview podcast.

“I’ve never had any of my own, that’s my biggest regret, but I love kids,” said Boyle.

“When things quieten down a bit I would like to get into fostering.

“I’m 58 so I’ve got something to bring my family home to. I’ve a lovely house, why not share it?”

Boyle has been kept busy this year with releasing her new album Ten and competing on America’s Got Talent: The Champions.

Boyle became an ambassador for Save the Children in 2013. At the time, she said working with the charity made her feel as though she was “adopting the kids”.

She said, “I love children and I feel like I’m adopting the kids. I feel like a mammy.”

She also released a song – a posthumous duet of O Come, All Ye Faithful with Elvis Presley – for the charity, with all the proceeds going to donations.
