9 bizarre adverts from the past that would be banned today
In today’s world, we are bombarded with more advertising than any other generation.
In the 1970s a person would be exposed to 500 ads a day but today, we see at least 5,000 ads or branded messages every day, according to CBS News.
The adverts from yesteryear not only had less exposure than today’s adverts but they were also far more ridiculous.
From saying that doctors “smoke Camels” more than any other cigarette to suggesting that it is fine for a baby to drink soft drinks, these campaigns show the strategies businesses would employ to grab attention before adequate advertising laws were created.
