Nicole Kidman stuns in dramatic new magazine photoshoot
Fans were shocked to see Nicole Kidman transform from her glamorous persona into a darker, grittier character in her new film Destroyer.
But she’s back to her roots as she was looking more like her stylish self in a photoshoot for W Magazine’s Best Performances Issue.

The Big Little Lies star, 51, opted for a sheer black veil and an Armani Prive dress. She completed the outfit by accessorising with classic white gloves.
Her makeup was done to compliment the gothic vibes of the photoshoot, with a deep red lip and exaggerated winged eyeliner.
Speaking to the magazine, the Academy Award winning actress explained how the wardrobe for her character in the film Destroyer was integral for her transformation.
She gives credit to one item in particular: a leather jacket.
“We took so long to find the leather jacket that I wear it pretty much every frame of the film,” said Nicole.
“I became so obsessed with that jacket, I would wear it at home. I put it on first thing in the morning. My kids visited the set and were shocked at the way I looked. You know, I’ve been working as an actor since I was 14 years old. It’s a choice, but it’s also a calling. Sometimes, I kind of try to move away, but it always pulls me back.”
But despite her highly acclaimed performance, the 51-year-old revealed that she wasn’t the first choice to play the part.
“In Destroyer, I play a cop who’s been through a lot – she’s very American, very angry, distressed and disturbed. I wasn’t the first choice for that role – it went to somebody else and she didn’t want to do it. I read the script and put my hand up and said, ‘What about me?’”
Kidman has received high praise for her performance in the crime drama and is predicted the role could nab her the title of Best Actress, Drama at the Golden Globes this weekend.
Kidman has won five Golden Globes to date, with the actress taking home the honour last year for her HBO show Big Little Lies.
