1. Colin Firth (Mr Darcy)

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past 20 years, you’ll know Firth, 57, has gone on to become one of the UK’s – and the world’s – biggest actors, starring in the Bridget Jones series (as Mr Darcy, no less) and earning an Oscar for his role in the King’s Speech. He has three children, two of whom with wife Livia Giuggioli.

Jane Austen’s iconic novel Pride and Prejudice has been a literary favourite for two centuries, but it experienced an unprecedented surge in 1995, when the BBC aired a six-part TV adaptation starring Jennifer Ehle as Lizzie Bennet and a little-known actor by the name of Colin Firth in the role of Mr Darcy.

It’s now been almost 22 years since this benchmark-setting adaptation hit our screens, so we thought it was about time to see what the cast has been up to since. Scroll through to gallery above to see how the Bennets, Mr Darcy, Mr Bingley, Mr Wickham and more are getting on today.
